The selection of candidates for UPESSC UP Principal Inter Level Recruitment 2026 (Advt. No. 08/2026) will be conducted through the following stages:

1. Written Examination
The written examination will consist of 120 objective-type questions (MCQs).
Total marks will be 360.
Each correct answer carries 3 marks.
1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

2. Interview
Candidates shortlisted on the basis of their written examination performance will be called for an interview carrying 40 marks.
3. Document Verification
Shortlisted candidates must produce their original educational certificates, B.Ed. qualification, experience certificates and other required documents for verification.
4. Final Merit List
The final merit list will be prepared based on the combined marks obtained in the written examination (360 marks) and interview (40 marks), subject to the recruitment rules.
